Treating men and women who are addicted and dependent to drugs and/or alcohol and have ended up in the criminal justice system has proven a productive method of preventing repeat drug related criminal offenses for people who do take advantage of treatment programs. For criminal justice clients in Haxtun who do agree to take part in treatment in drug rehabilitation programs, even against one's will as is often court ordered, these persons have a significantly better opportunity of addressing the root of the issue so that they can stay abstinent and off of negative influences and [[[committing drug related criminal acts.
